Gender differences in booking business travel

April, 2016

As travel becomes more personalized, there is an increasing need to understand how travel preferences and behaviors vary from one traveler type to another.

In this research we investigate gender differences in booking business travel, with a specific focus on the advance purchasing of air tickets. Besides gender, age and travel frequency are also considered. When a like-for-like comparison is performed, we find that women book their flights 1.9 days earlier than men, on average.

A comparison of the fare paid by the two genders is also conducted. Discover more!
